Agrisellex is a new venture with old roots.

Our association with Electric fencing began years ago in central Africa operating out of Zimbabwe (formally Rhodesia) where we used electric fencing to assist farmers, wildlife conservationalists and entrepreneurs to control the African wildlife. This involved a huge range of animals from Elephant down to the common rabbit. One particularly satisfying project was assisting to secure the safety of the declining Black Rhino population in Wildlife conservancies.

In every case, an Electric Fence design was able to achieve the desired result. This is mirrored throughout the world where a design has been found to control even the most difficult terrestrial animal, the design may need tweaking for a particular animal but a solution will be found. Illustrating this, fences were installed in the Omay Wildlife area, Northern Zimbabwe around 3 ha irrigation blocks for poor villagers producing green crops at the height of the dry season. These were severely tested by Elephants and other herbivores throughout the growing period but none entered. In each case, the fences reduced the number of raids by wildlife, and crop production increased. Families had vegetables to eat during the dry season, and as food production became more secure there was a striking reduction in illegal game poaching. At the same time, subsistence farmers were able to spend time on other income generating activities like poultry rearing, beekeeping and carpentry.

We moved to the UK in 2000 and have become involved in the Equestrian side of Electric fencing in addition to the normal environmental and agricultural application of the product over the last few years.

Recent contracts have included working with Shell to protect their Siberian oil facilities from attacks from bears. Reducing the Human/Elephant conflict in Africa and contributing to the re-release of wild wolves in Italy
