New Display Item~Searching for problems in an electric fence is basically a step-by-step process. First establish the energizer is functioning and then tackle the fence. A adequate tester is essential or you are guessing. One that shows if a fence is running at 6000v is far better than those on the market with a single light that only show if there is 2000v. This is an absolute minimum and the fence may only be 2100v which is not adequate for nearly every application. The only alternative is to use your hand and I assure you- it hurts.
A small AM/SW radio is an invaluable tool. Set off-station it receives the radio signals emited by a short circuit and the pulse of an Electric fence is registerted as a loud "click" - getting louder the closer you are.
